i was wading through my RSS feed when i came across this remodelista post on cooking with ceramic cookware.

the stuff she linked to was really lovely, very 70s hippie kitchen looking.
good thing we already have ceramic cookware, that we bought here.

in addition to adding an “earthy” flavor to your cooking (i don’t even know what that means, but the remodelista article mentioned it several times so it must be true), it’s non-toxic and super easy to clean. it replaced all our other cookware, and it’s awesome that it goes easily from stovetop to the oven.
i highly recommend it, even though it doesn’t come in sexy, earth mother colors. it wasn’t exactly cheap, but what price can one put on not getting alzheimer’s from aluminum poisoning? and also they’re really sturdy, so they’ll last for a loooong time.
it’s always exciting when i accidentally have my finger on the pulse of what’s cool.
just a picture of me hanging out at my house the way i do. arranging vast amounts of flowers, with crazy headdresses sitting on ivory-inlaid coffee tables, standing on my polar bear rug. you know. just the usual.

can we talk about how awesome quilts are? it needn’t be a long conversation, just a quick back and forth, like so:
“dude, quilts are awesome, right? so good!” - me
“yeah, totally. they’re the best.” - you
i have been talking about wanting to learn how to hand quilt forevs. anyone else want to start a quilting circle? we can start with, like, pot holders or pillow cases and work from there. we can make our own patterns!
LET’S DO THIS! I’M SERIOUS!

louis posted this as a joke because some of the elements of the story are bananas and hilarious, but i actually found it strangely inspiring. my belongings totally own me and i dream of living in a van down by a river sometimes. also, is beaver dick the best nickname, the VERY best nickname or just the nickname that is the best? tough call.
