Sky Art of the Day: To protest LA’s “unconstitutional moratorium” on murals, well-known street artist SABER paid skywriters to tag the firmament over City Hall with the noms de graffiti of several notable street artists in hopes of raising awareness of the controversial decree.
“SABER is no stranger to big statements,” writes LA Taco. “[I]n 1997 the artist executed the world’s largest graffiti piece on the concrete bank of the LA river.”

Trevor, everyone, this is what Awesometown will be. It will be everyone you like, living together, creating a town they want to live in. LET’S GO THERE, ‘KAY??
P.S. Someone needs to get that cat away from the edge because that doesn’t seem safe to me.

“niagra” is amazing, but all of them are just as good. brooding, creepy, shocking, gorgeous. i have been looking at this off and on everyday this week.

may we all greet our hardships with as much grace and wisdom. (may we all live lives 100% free of hardship, duh.)

i remember hearing a story on NPR about how none of the fruit growers in the central valley can find enough fruit pickers and are basically desperate to hire people. i find it annoying that anyone can cling to the idea that illegal immigrants of any race or nationality are stealing jobs that citizens want. any of you unemployed IT or graphic design people considering heading to the central valley to pick strawberries? no? what about all the unemployed factory workers? no? huh. WHAT A FREAKING SURPRISE.
and also, duh, fuck wall street and the stock market and all the fake money games we have out system built on because it’s bullshit. just a way for the rich to keep getting richer off the disappearing middle class’s hard work. NO WAR BUT THE CLASS WAR, DOODZ.

why are all you unemployed people, who desperately want to find jobs to feed your families, so lazy? if you just worked harder at finding jobs, and stopped living in your secret unemployment mansions, maybe you wouldn’t be in such terrifying financial straits, you know?
JUST SAYIN’.

even conor’s rambling monologue can’t keep this song from bringing tears to my eyes.
We must talk in every telephone, get eaten off the web
We must rip out all the epilogues from the books we have read
And to the face of every criminal strapped firmly to a chair
We must stare, we must stare, we must stare.
We must take all of the medicines too expensive now to sell
Set fire to the preacher who is promising us hell
And in the ear of every anarchist that sleeps but doesn’t dream
We must sing, we must sing, we must sing.
And it’ll go like this, alright
While my mother waters plants my father loads his gun.
He says, “Death will give us back to God,
just like the setting sun
is returned to the lonesome ocean.”
And then they splashed into the deep blue sea.
(Oh,)It was a wonderful splash.
We must blend into the choir, sing as static with the whole,
We must memorize nine numbers and deny we have a soul,
And to this endless race for property and privilege to be won
We must run, we must run, we must run.
We must hang up in the belfry where the bats in moonlight laugh
We must stare into a crystal ball and only see the past
And (in)to the caverns of tomorrow with just our flashlights and our love
We must plunge, we must plunge, we must plunge.
And then we’ll get down there,
way down to the very bottom of everything
and then we’ll see it, oh we’ll see it, we’ll see it, we’ll see it.
Oh my morning’s coming back
The whole world’s waking up
Oh the city bus is swimming past.
I’m happy just because
I found out I am really no one.
YES. YES. YES.
